7th January 2008 Double Trouble Publishing and Potato Academy sign sales and distribution deal. Following an agreement with Double Trouble Publishing, card publisher and distributor Potato Academy will manage the sales and distribution of The Adventures Of Molly and Macy photographic greeting cards. The cards have proven extremely popular since their launch in 2004 and are currently sold in over 500 stores throughout the UK. Superbly photographed the cards depict twins Molly and Macy in many cute and humorous situations and cover most occasions including Birthdays, Exams, Get Well, New Home, Weddings and more. The designs have twice been nominated for The Henries in 2004 and 2006. David Ellis, owner of Double Trouble Publishing, has also secured licensing agreements for The Adventures Of Molly and Macy in many countries, as well as developing other properties his company owns including Little Creatures, The Crying Squad and Zoo Zoo. Potato Academy entered the greeting card industry in 2003 with their successful WHAT WERE YOU LIKE?!! milestone birthday card range which now sells in around 1500 stores and have developed a unique business model supplying retailers, primarily through telephone based sales and customer services. Mike Short, managing director of Potato Academy said, “we have built up a core competence for selling and supplying cards – so we have been keen to enrol other unique and complementary ranges to sell through this channel.” As recently as November POTATO ACADEMY also signed an exclusive UK licensing deal for the Marvellous Mummies card range from US publisher Marvelous Mommies. All three ranges are now available from this single source with low minimum carriage-paid order requirements and next working day delivery to all UK mainland addresses. |
